Despite more than 600 million years of evolution, the basic components of the bilaterian brain wiring diagram are highly conserved. We use the genetically tractable and optically accessible larval zebrafish to investigate novel players involved in the vertebrate axonal wiring process.  I will present two projects developed in our laboratory that are expanding the current repertoire of known molecular players involved in this process.
